thoughts from work, once again

dancingyeltryouts were yesterday, which was good. i'm so glad to finally have them done and over with...6 weeks is much too long for a tryout period. it went pretty well, i think. kevin and i nailed the hat thing (yay!) and just had a lot of fun dancing. i got lots of comments about the dress i was wearing, the fact that kevin and i were more or less matching, the hats, and the dancing, too. it made me feel..i dunno, more validated, i guess. more i like i really belong on the team. i hope i make comp, of course, because i really don't want to do the same routine for another year, especially since i'm doing it for nationals. it's funny, last year, i didn't think i deserved to be on comp, and i made it. this year, i'm not sure if i deserve it, but i'll be rather pissed off if i'm not on it. expectations, yeah. we'll see what happens. i'll find out on monday.
the only problem with dancing right now, and i never thought i'd say this, is that i'm doing too much of it. yeah, i know, it's not something you would expect from me. but it's true...i've danced every day since last thursday, and i'm gonna dance both today and tomorrow again. i love it and hate it at the same time. it's like, i love the fact that i get to dance, but at the same time, i'm geting a little burnt out, and it's only first quarter. hopefully, now that tryouts are over, i'll be more pumped up to be learning new stuff. nationals is great, but we have so much more work to do, and people don't understand the need to focus. law is such a great captain, but some people get mad at him because he pushes us and nitpicks and stuff. dude, that's what he's supposed to do! that's part of his role as captain! yeah. people can be frustrating sometimes.
i'm still basically happy. it's nice to feel this way. i've had a couple of gloomy days, especially this past week, but i'm good overall. life is nice right now.
by the way, i'm allowed to have like 50 user icons now, so i need ideas for more icons...i can always fill up on lotr ones, but i'm looking for some more creative stuff as well.
