yay! have managed to put counter in journal, thanks to kunzite1. i love how helpful random people on lj can be. i think this is the layout i'm sticking with for now. what do you guys think?

oh, also...i just downloaded firefox and now i want to use those cool mouse gestures people talk about, but i can't find them. help!

The option to keep the background picture stable freaks the hell out of me - it always has. It's pretty much gone into disuse because it freaks the hell out of a lot of people :P I know you like Viggo, but perhaps you could make the background plain-colored.

The mouse gestures are an exension to firefox (there are a lot of cool extensions, you should take some time and check them out - extensions are one of firefox's most powerful features). First, go here for mouse gestures:

Also, this is very odd, but when I try to click the "post comment" button, the reply window gets wider and shorter, many times moving the button away from my mouse so I can't click it.

heh. the funny thing is, one of the ways i pick my layouts is i'll only use ones that let me keep the background pic stable and more or less visible, since i like that background. why does it freak you (and others) out? for me, it's a benefit.

thanks for the firefox links...i'll check them out when i'm taking a break from studying, which will probably be soon.

yeah, i got that, too. not sure why it's doing that. i'll have to check it out and see if anyone else has these issues...more questions for lj support or other friendly people.

Well, when I'm trying to read text, and I'm scrolling up and down, it makes it very difficult to keep my place when the background doesn't move with the scrolling. It also adds some kind of weird 3d effect that makes me dizzy :P

I think the motionless background is kinda cool. Doesn't really bother me at all.
Also, I use Optimoz Mouse Gestures 1.0.

oh, good. i'm glad someone else likes the motionless background. not that i was really gonna change it, but now i fell...vaguely validated, i guess. silliness.

thanks for the gestures link. i've downloaded the all-in-one that dave linked to, and i really like them. it's good to have the different options.

what's the fancy short link you're refering to? i'm confused.
