another nice convo

man, this seems to be the time for me to have long conversations with people...first, it was kevin, then last friday, i talked to david lin for several hours, and today, i talked to brian tsui for a long time. there was a navs gathering at the feather house (joe's place) because joe is leaving, and also to say bye to the graduating seniors. so we had dinner, and then people shared stories about all the people who were leaving. the stories were really sweet...even though i didn't know the people that well, i was still moved by the different descriptions of them. so after, everyone split off to do their own thing. i was feeling a little antisocial...i didn't want to be alone, but i didn't really want to be in the huge group, either. so, brian and i went to the side of the room and just talked. we sort of watched what the others were doing and had mini conversations with the people around us, but we were mainly talking to each other, just catching up. we haven't really talked in a while, so it was definitely catch-up...recounting all our adventures for this past school year. we were talking about all sorts of things...classes, friendships, love. at one point, he was telling me about how he feels that dre and alan are like brothers to him, and it's nice 'cause it's like a family away from home. i was saying how i feel that with cin, too...it's like she's solid and there whenever i need a friend, and i can always count on her when the rest of my life is all weird. so then brian looked at me and said something like "you know, i feel that you're like a sister...i can tell you anything." that was seriously the nicest thing i've been told in a while...it was like, "wow...that's so sweet..." that was happy...he's a really nice guy. it's like, we don't talk very often, but when we do, it's great. we can always pick up right where we left off...but we need to talk more so that we don't have a year's worth of stuff to catch up on. so yes...it was a tres nice evening.
