news for the day
Nov. 9th, 2004 12:40 amtoday was a little odd...i felt really sick and sniffy and icky all day, and then i had dinner with emily and went to dance and the sniffles seem to have gone away completely. this is happy! strange, but good.
so we started learning to routine for comp, and i'm a bit overwhelmed since it's a lot of stuff and it's all samba right now, which isn't at all my strong point. i think i'll feel better after thursday, when we review for 2 hours. still, i am again reminded of how easy it is for dance to mess with my self-esteem. must not let that happen.
also, i'm really glad i like so many people on the team and am comfortable with all the guys on comp (even boris, for the most part). there are already bits in this routine where i'm like, "wow, a little close there." but it's ok, 'cause everyone is cool. see, i do have personal space. i just don't usually mind people being in it, but it does exist.
random thought: funny, but even with a huggy team like ours, we still resort to wrestling and tickling to get our share of physical contact. it's like high school...can't admit that you want to get closer, so you find less obvious ways of doing it. strange form of flirting.
last thing...i'm having a movie-watching thing on thursday at my place, so any ucsd-ers reading this, if you wanna come, let me know. it'll be at 6pm and we're watching a dancey movie, but i'm not sure which one yet.
ok, good night!
