comp routine is odd, to say the least
Nov. 22nd, 2004 11:21 pmso you know how last year, i kept joking that with the way the routine was going, i wasn't gonna let my parents see me dance it? this year, it's less a joke and more something i'm actually concerned with. we learned the rhumba today, and while i like it better than the cha or the samba, because it's pretty cute and playful, it's bringing the routine to a point where even if i get comfortable dancing it, which will take a while in and of itself, i'm worried about dancing it in front of people i know, especially my parents. meep!
i'm also very glad that javier's my partner...i'm comfortable with him, and he's such a flirt naturally that it's almost not so weird. there are some people i just don't like enough to be that cozy with, but also a couple of people i like a lot but would feel really odd dancing this routine with. so yeah, the partnering is working well. plus, the fact that he's so much the flirt makes me feel better...like even when i'm not really feeling sexy, he still treats me like i am, which is really nice.
i'm wondering if this routine will grow on me...the samba's ok, i really don't like the cha, and the rhumba is cute. we'll see what the rest of it is like, i guess.
