i really hope i don't have asthma
Jan. 9th, 2005 01:05 ami feel like i should do a quick update on my life, at least the events of the last 8 hours or so. at around 3:30 this afternoon, as lily and hans were driving me back to campus from abe's, i started coughing very persistently. i thought i was getting sick, but there were no other symptoms. they dropped me off so i could run and get my stuff before this dance workshop thing, and after i ran for all of 10 seconds, i started wheezing and feeling faint. i made it to my place fine, felt a bit better, and decided to go to the workshop, since it was a stretcing workshop and not aerobics. about 40 minutes in, i felt pretty sick, so at the break, i decided to walk home. the walk took me forever, 'cause any time i went faster than a slow walk, i coughed and wheezed and had a hard time breathing. i was afraid i'd faint on the way home, but thankfully didn't. at home, i called my doctor, waited for an hour and a half for the on-person to get back to me, then called emily and asked her to take me to urgent care, which she did. there, i was told that it was an asmathic type attack, formally a bronchospasm, given a breathing treatment, a prescription for an inhaler, and told to go to my doctor next week to get more detailed blood or lab work done. so yes. now i own an inhaler, which is odd, and have had an asthma attack, which is also odd since i don't have asthma, or didn't. blah. but thank you emily for driving me around and waiting for me and all! and thank you lovely dancer people for hanging out with me and making me feel ok even though i couldn't dance tonight! now i get to get checked up and stuff...hopefully, i don't actually have asthma.
