longer random entry
Jun. 13th, 2005 10:43 pmi'm back in san francisco now, although not at home, since my parents are renovating the house and there's no space for me. i'm at our family friends' place now and will be here 'till they come back from their vacation in two weeks. after that, i'll probably stay with nikki for a short while, since our renovations still won't be done...and maybe by the time nik's mom and siblings come back, i'll have a job! that's the hope, at least. i'm interviewing at all sorts of places, which is good, but i wish someone would finally give me a response! i haven't heard back from any of the three interviews i've had, although granted, one was this morning, so i'm not expecting to hear back from them for a while. still! want to know what's going on!
i'm listening to joni mitchell's "both sides now" on my new blue ipod mini(!) and i just realized that the reason it sounds so familiar is that it's from "love, actually." it's such a sad song! but yes, i have an ipod now! and it's totally awesome! and adorable! yes. thank you to my sister, who's very up with the times and knows exactly what i want most of the time.
on the topic of my sister, i was there yesterday and had this whole conversation with rachel about how i'm back in san francisco for now, and she got so happy! and now i'm thinking, i can't go back to san diego! even if i get offered a job there, or anything! for all that i'm gonna miss dancing and dancers and all that, how can i go live so far away when my niece is so excited to have me around? so yes, i'm definitely hoping for a job here. and it would be way too much fun (in a good way, of course) to live with kevin.
maybe tomorrow we'll go out dancing! that would be much fun. i'm glad i have jazz shoes in my closet in san francisco, since i'm not sure which bag the ones i use in san diego are in...but in all likelihood, they're in a bag that's in my sister's garage still. i hate this transitional period where i don't even know where i'm living, so all my stuff is in random places, from san francisco to san mateo.
i will definitely do a formal--ish end of college sort of entry, especially since this year has been so great. i feel like i haven't had a chance to process this graduating thing yet, so writing it down will probably help. i don't feel like doing it just yet, though, 'cause my contacts are starting to go nuts, and i'm thinking that once i get started, i won't wanna stop midway. so it'll get done in the next couple of days, but not quite yet.
irena, i wanna call you now, but i'm afraid that since you're at home now, it's too late! give me a call if you read this tomorrow, but if not, i'll find a time to call you.
ok, off to take contacts off and get into bed or something. i know, it's early for me! i'm kinda wiped out, though...it's been an overwhelming couple of days. plus, the room i'm staying in at our friends' place is their 0ffice (it hasa really comfy futon) and there's a giant bookshelf with several hundred russian and english books! it's so exciting! i wanna look over some of them and see if i can't get through some in the next couple of weeks! plus, if i'm in the bay area, they'll let me borrow whichever ones i'm interested in, so i wanna skim as many as i can and see if i want to borrow them. the discovery of new books is highly exciting, and i haven't read that many russian books in a while. time to change that!
good night! call me, bay area people! i wanna see all of you! and come visit, san diego people!
