55 years is a long time
Jul. 1st, 2005 06:51 pmtoday is my grandparents' 55th wedding anniversary. is that not the most insane thing? i went over to their place and brought them roses, which made them quite happy. it's amazing, to think that they've been married for that long. i can't even conceive it, really.
had another interview today, for a job doing research with people who have been exposed to trauma and have ptsd (post-traumatic stress disorder). it sounds like a really awesome job, even though it's with a slightly older population than i would really want to work with. still, there would be a lot of cool opportunities there, and i would get trained as a sleep tech. we'll see what happens. they said they'd let me know by tuesday if they want me to come back for a second interview, so it's quite a process.
spent the day with nicole yesterday...she's great! 5 and a half months old and super cute! rachel calls her munchkin, and sometimes "little ball" 'cause her head is so round. i guess we all call her "little ball" sometimes. she's really smiley most of the time, but her teeth are starting just a little, so she's getting kinda fussy. still, such a doll! and rachel is awesome, too. we played and i read to her and then she read to me, which was great. she also wanted to write pretend conversations between her dolls, so we got some paper and she had the dolls saying things like "hello, do you want to play?" she's getting good at sounding words out and being able to spell them...she would guess which letter should be next and then i'd tell her if she was right or not...she did a really good job and getting the right letters! she definitely had issues with words like "bear" and "talk" (she wanted to write "ber" and "toc"), but dude, she's only 5! so i'm a super proud auntie. she's also really good with nicole. she helped me watch her and played with her and stuff...and when i had to go answer the phone, she sat between nicole and the edge of the couch so the baby wouldn't roll. so she's awesome. yes.
good times...off to dinner and dancing!
