in need of cheering up
May. 19th, 2006 12:13 pmMan, there's so much wrong with the world, and sometimes it just all gets to me. This is why I act like an ostrich far too often...sticking my head in the sand and pretending nothing is going on around me is far less painful. I mean, look around. No positive news anywhere. Stuff in Darfur going from bad to worse. Rabbi abusing his students, for decades, and no one does anything about it 'till now. Iran contemplating badges for non-Muslims, Nazi Germany style. CIA director nominee (read: idiot guy) attempts to justify the NSA spy programs. Anything happy anywhere?
And yes, I realize not all of those things are of equal importance, but they're all upsetting. And I'm sleepy, which may explain the sudden pessimism. But I had a really nice evening yesterday, so hopefully, I'll cheer up soon.
ETA: better link to the Iran story. Great.
ETA #2: doubts are being cast on whether or not the law actually got passed or if it even exists at all. sorry, guys. massive confusion here.
