Jul. 2nd, 2007 03:37 pmgetting my stuff into the truck went wonderfully, amazingly well. there was a moment of panic when the furniture guy thought my furniture was scheduled to come next week (guy: "looks like it'll be ready next saturday." elaine: "no, it doesn't. if it doesn't come today, i don't want it." guy, 10 minutes later: "huh. looks like it's coming today.") but eventually the furniture did, indeed, arrive and got on the truck. with the help of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
linley, kragen and paisleychick, owens888 and Corey, newerabooks, David, and my dad, all my stuff got loaded and secured in about 2 hours! it was rather amazing and awesome. today, the truck left to go to tucson, where nikki and i will meet it on the 9th. excitement!

david and i went to the opera on saturday night, which was awesome. Don Giovanni was great...we enjoyed the music and the singing, and the plot is very satisfying. we also sat downstairs, towards the back and to the side a bit...i've never sat in seats that good at the opera! heh. it was a good way to end the rather hectic morning...sitting for 3 hours and enjoying great music.

it's very odd to be at my parents' house again...it's like i've reverted to high school or something. it's not for too long, though. i'm leaving to go on a road trip with cin and nik in a few days...we hope to leave eraly on thursday morning. i'll be back again on july 13th in the evening, and then i'm leaving for real on august 7th or 8th. i hope to host a bab5 here, since my parents will be in norway, and a going away lord of the rings marathon/party before i go! you all should reserve the last weekend in july!

last day of work was friday, which was interesting. on the one hand, i'm really glad to be done and to move on to another phase of my life. on the other hand, i was sad to leave! i really enjoyed working there, even when it was crazy, and i liked my coworkers a lot. they wrote me such nice things in my going away card! and the doctor i worked with said he looks forward to our future collaborations. hee! and yay!
ok, off to visit friends and take advantage of the fact that i'm not working. yay!
