okay, so maybe that's not quite the mantra you're going for. maybe "i am a woman of substance whose sense of importance comes from...self? that can't be right!" hahaha or not that either. or you could quote DT!Draco, "When life throws lemons at you, make lemonade and then dump a big pitcher of it on the person who threw the lemons at you when you originally asked for oranges."

hey, one of my students who wants to major in dance is trying to decide between ucsd and uci. do you (or kevin) know anything about the undergrad dance program at ucsd? any info would be much appreciated. thanks!

The dance program is okay, but not on par with the theatre program (which is apparently very excellent, esp. at graduate level). It partially depends on what area of dance s/he wants to do... if I recall correctly, UCSD tends to trend heavier into Modern, so if s/he's really into more classical dance s/he won't be as happy there.

i think kevin is right re: ucsd leaning towards modern...i don't recall hearing very many good things about the ballet program, but the modern teachers were fairly well known.
