note to self: answer comments! people write nice things to me, and i read them and grin and become happy and then forget to answer. blah. sorry, guys. you get the brunt of me being absent-minded.

random elaine news: grad school stuff is in progress. i've sent off 4 already (they were due today, so this was a necessity, not a feat of non-procrastination) and i still have 7 more to finish. the list, since people keep asking, is: berkeley, ucsd/sdsu joint program, u of oregon (eugene), u of washington (seattle), u of arizona (tuscon), duke, suffolk, upenn (philadelphia), umass boston, boston u, and u of michigan (ann arbor). phew. so lots of work for elaine still to do, but the end is in sight, since it's all due on the 15th. fun stuff.

what else? well, after all this grad school junk is done, we go to new zealand! we're leaving on december 29th (friday night) and arriving in auckland 5am of the 31st, which means we'll get to spend new year's eve in new zealand! happy, but weird. i've never been in a different place from my family on new year's, so this will be odd. but so exciting! we've got most of our itinerary planned out already, with a few spots for improvising. lots of nature stuff, lots of lord of the rings stuff, relaxing and going to beaches and seeing museums and just lovely stuff. i'm so very much looking forward to this trip! i'll probably post a more detailed itinerary later, too.

ok, hopefully this post will work, since i'm posting from google docs (formerly writely). let's see, shall we?

yeah, the grad school stuff is stressful, but i'm nearing the end, and i'm certainly far more prepared than i was two years ago when i did this last. still, i'm stressed out...what am i gonna do if i don't get in this time? eep! heh.

we'll actually only be on north island, since we have a limited time and plenty of things we want to see there. but i'll definitely put up out current plans, and any suggestions would be welcome.
