what are the chances that an email gets lost in the vastness of the internet? i emailed someone a while ago (more than a month), in response to an email from him, and haven't gotten a response. now, it's entirely possible that he either forgot or chose not to write back, i've done that before myself. still, i had a moment of paranoia yesterday, like, what if the email got lost and he thinks i'm terribly rude for never writing back? how likely is that? my technical knowledge in this matter is lacking.

Could it have landed in spam?

Regardless of what happened, if it's an important email, it's polite to nudge him again for a response.

I dunno, really. Servers go down and things go haywire periodically. What often happens with me is I'm busy with other things when I first glance at an email, then it gets buried, then I find it again and it's been so long that I feel like I should write a longer response, which I don't get around to... I'd send him something saying "*poke*" or somesuch, with your original emails below, but that's just me.

I just feel a bit silly nudging, since it's not an "important" email as such, but just something I would've liked to get a response to. Being ignored doesn't feel good, that's all. I may nudge, though. :)

That sounds like a likely thing to have happened, yes. I do that kind of thing all the time. I feel a little silly poking again, but I might just do that. Thanks for the advice!
