i heard somewhere that goldfish have a memory span of 3 minutes or something like that. apparently, cin's memory/attention span is less than that of a goldfish, as evidenced by the following conversation at freshman honors seminar today.
guy with computer walks in and sets up to give a lecture
cin: he's probably from math
me: or programming
pause
cin: that's disturbing
me: what?
cin: what?
me: what's disturbing?
cin: everything
pause
me: what's everything?
cin: what?
me: you said everything was disturbing...what's everything?
cin: what?
me: what's disturbing?
cin: that he's from math or programming
me: oh...ok
the length of this conversation was two minutes or so, during which cin managed to forget what we were talking about three times. disturbing, isn't it?
