so yesterday was an interesting day. well, that's not totally accurate...the day part of it was pretty normal, it was the evening part that was interesting. i left massage early to study, and because it was legs and i hate legs...and then i came back to the main gym, just in time to get a phone call from kevin, telling me to stay there. i stayed, and a couple of minutes later, he came over with laurie, emily from dancing, and emily from tga...i was expecting to just hang out or something, when kevin came up behind me and put his hands over my eyes. they led me all around to emily's car, kept my eyes closed in the car, then again when we got to some place (i didn't know what at the time) and then, after we waited in line, let go of me so i could choose, as they said. it turned out to be baskin robbins free scoop night, and they randomly decided to kidnap me and take me there! fun times! so it was all very entertaining, and on the way back, kevin, for reasons known only to him, i'm sure, played "this little piggy" with laurie's toes. yes. it was quite odd. so we came back all sugared up and giggly and practice was lots of fun. interesting evening.

so then i got home and i was talking to sam, and i was thinking about friends and stuff. just saturday, i was telling him how i didn't feel that i had all that many people i hung out with here...i mean, i hang out with the navs people a lot, but they're still cin's friends to a degree, because they all share something i don't, and that's the basis of their friendships...and i love them and have a great time with them, but i'm never gonna be 100% part of that group. and then there are dancers, most of whom aren't people i really want to hang out with outside of dancing...i mean, there are exceptions to that, but they're exceptions, like laurie and emily and kevin, who i still think of as a dance person if i have to classify him. and i love the tga girls, but i don't hang out with most of them outside of tga activities, although i'm gonna live with shelley next year. so yeah, i was a little down about it, and then that day i went and hung out with brian, which was tres cool, and then the next day emily came over to watch "kissing jessica stein" and that was lots of fun, and then yesterday was the whole kidnapping thing, and i realized, yeah, there are people here i'm friends with. and i mean, i've considered those 4 (the kidnappers...heh) my friends for a while, but it's just nice to get confirmation, i guess. sometimes i doubt my own ability to make friends here in college...but yeah. that was really great. so if you're reading this, emily and emily and laurie and kevin, thanks! it seemed like a small, silly fun thing to do, but it really meant a lot, in a strange sort of way.

anyone understand at all what i was trying to say? anyhow, no matter. i'm happy. it's all good.

well, you asked what I was thinking! I'm really glad we picked the perfect time to prove that you do have friends here at school. Just the other day I too was counting my blessings (aka friends at school) and I definitely included you. :D Happiness.

I definately sometimes doubt my ability to make friends at college, and I totally know what you mean. Kevin just thinks it's silly, so I'm glad there are other people out there who get insecure about that too =)

it's always nice to have someone who understands...i don't think it's silly at all to get insecure. frinedships in high school were easier 'cause everyone spent a good part of their day together, and the rest of the time doing homework...so it wasn't like we had a huge amount of time to hang out outside of school...but in college, it's impossible to meet people in classes, and clubs can be good, but not always completely useful. so yeah...it can be difficult.
