it's almost summer!

so yesterday was a really nice day...i had my bat mitzvah! it went well...i didn't mess up or fall off the stage type thing or anything idiotic like that. lots of my friends were there, which was really really nice. thanks, you guys! you made me super happy by being there! my parents and grandma were here, too. it was a great experience, and i'm relieved that it's over...i had a great time, though. so yes. happy!

Hey Elaine,
I thought that was a great Bat Mitzvah service. Thank you for inviting me to come. It was really a great thing to see. You did a fantastic job.
I have to confess, while you were up there I was laughing to myself imagining you cute little 12 years old, voice cracking, sweating through the service like all of my Shaker friends. Singing the prayers when your voice is changing, its the hazing part of the initiation into adulthood.
You read beautifully. Congratulations, again.

You forgot to mention that having the service gave you an excuse to get lots and lots of hugs. :) One for each of your friends before the service, after the service, and as people left. I'm sure it was one of the reasons your smile was so big on Saturday. And let me congratulate you again on joining the adult Jewish community.
