so i just wrote a brief locked entry, so log in people with journals! but then i realized that i had other things to say that didn't need to be locked, hence this entry. oh, before i go on, for some reason, the comment link on friends-locked entries is at the top of the entry and not the bottom. i'm not sure why this is, but it doesn't matter so much, as long as you all know it still exists and comment on the entry! yes, go comment! hehe.

so anyhow, what i wanted to write about was practice yesterday...so if you don't want to hear about how wonderful dance is, you probably want to ignore the rest of this entry, since it's gonna be all about dancing and dancers.

we finally started learning the new routine, which was tres exciting. it's a no doubt routine, and the songs are intro from the cd, "hey baby" which is a samba, "let me blow ya mind" which is a short rhumba snippet, "hella good" which is, of course, a chacha, "don't speak," another rhumba, a jive which i think is "spiderwebs," but i can't remember for sure, and a reprise of "hey baby" to finish it off. i'm not sure of the order in the middle there, but i'm sure of the first three songs and the last one. the beginning of the routine is already pretty cool and out of the ordinary, since we start off on the floor, and i'm enjoying it. it's a great change.

practice itself is lots of fun because the people are so great. i already knew all the girls on comp except for yelena and krysta, and i actually had a good conversation with yelena yesterday. i remember having a negative impression of her from freshman year, but she seemed quite nice today, so i'm not sure where it stemmed from. in any case,it doesn't really matter, since new impressions are better. krysta seems very sweet, but i haven't talked to her much. and i like all the returning girls...i've decided that i like lindy just fine, as long as i don't have to confide in her or some such.

the guys on comp are mostly great, too. law is great, of course, and i'm glad he's one of the captains. he's organized and charismatic, and does a great job of being a leader. kevin is kevin (heh) and i'm super glad he's on the team again. it's nice having friends around all the time, no? i don't much like boris and richard, but with so many people in the room, it's easy enough to avoid them all together. who else is there? doug is nice enough to me, and since i'm likely to short to ever dance with him, i don't have to worry about his flakiness personally. sean is still as friendly as before, and it's a little odd sometimes beacuse he's almost too nice...but i actually feel like he's made an effort to be more inclusive. i'm not sure if that's true or not, but we'll see. chris is great...potential for a great new friend. tony is utterly adorable and hilarious and so much fun! trevor is entertaining, at least most of the time. james b...hehehe...james bond. need i say more? alex is a big teddy bear and super sweet. so is vibol...he's really huggy and inspires much laughter. he reminds me a bit of vic chu, actually, because we both start laughing and can't stop.

so yes, everyone is wonderful and dance is super now. yay!

ok, off to midterm.
