i should, as usual, be asleep, and i'm not. emily told me about this meme where you list things you've never said to 20 people but want to say, and then people try to guess who each thing is directed to. i'm apparently not allowed to confirm or deny any answers, but people can reach a consensus. i may, if i get comments going, give some hints, though...it depends on whether or not i get people commenting. so yes, here goes. oh, not all the comments are towards people on my friends list, but at least one person on my friends list knows each of the people, if that makes sense.


1. it's amazing how much of my life course is, inadvertendly, your fault.
2. i had a crush on you when we first met, but now i don't remember why.
3. i've been jealous of you for the last year or so and every time i think i'm over it, i realize i'm not quite.
4. you've come up as a negative figure in my dreams a couple of times and it makes me feel bad.
5. you're not the person who knows the most about me, even though it's pretty close, but you're the person i'm most likely to tell all my secrets to right now.
6. every once in a while, even now, i catch myself thinking of you as perfect. in some ways.
7. i'd like to switch lives with you for a day.
8. i like you a lot, but sometimes i wonder if you're good enough for my friend.
9. i take you for granted way too much, but i actually am hugely grateful for you.
10. you make me oscilate between caring and not caring
11. i'm going to have to seriously warn anyone you ever date. heh.
12. i haven't seen you in nearly 8 years, but i still wonder what could've been.
13. you're a sweet heart, but you drive me absolutely insane more often than not.
14. i think you're absolutely amazing. i never thought i'd be good friends with someone i hardly ever see, except for my old friends, but there we have it.
15. i would like you a lot more if you didn't think you were always right.
16. i don't know how you manage to be so good without seeming inhuman. it's quite incredible, really.
17. i'm very glad i met you. you've made me reconsider my views on the russian community.
18. this is sad, but you're often talked about as "a learning experience."
19. you're one of the few people i will be genuinely glad to never see again after this year.
20. i hate that i let you make me feel bad about myself and my possibilities of ever meeting a nice guy, you're so not worth it, but i still feel that way when i think about you. which, thankfully, isn't too often.

i realized as i wrote these that some of them can be taken more than one way and applied to different people. oh, well. now, i'm curious to see what everyone will make of it...so comment!

Well, I can really only guess at a few of these, and I don't think I see me anywhere, which isn't surprising.. let's see:

1. Well, this could be your parents, but that would be too obvious. Also not so inadvertant.

3. Well, going along the lines of #2, this could be Heather, but who knows, it could be Bill Gates. Damn him and all his money.

7. Well, there are lots of people it'd be interesting to switch lives with, but I don't know who in particular this one is referencing.

17. Well, I'm going to take a leap here and say it's someone in the Russian community.

19. Harsh. Has to be someone at UCSD, probably on the dance team, but maybe not.

hehe. that's all i'll say, except that you make me want to post a locked, tali-only (or kevin and tali only) entry so that you can post guesses to the things you wouldn't guess publically. heh.

Wow, that's a really cool post. It's interesting, and quite frightening at the same time. makes you look over you shoulder, you know? a figurative shoulder. Or something.
i honestly don't have any guesses though. The real question in my mind is, what would happen if you actually did tell these people these things? hm.... your will could do it!

Emily does seem to fit number sixteen.

I'm really curious about number nineteen. that's painful, 'specially coming from someone as generally sweet as you are. Curse this whole "you're not allowed to reveal" thing.

I could see number nine beinty Cindy. I mean, perhaps she'd be something more like 6, but I know I take my closest friends for granted sometimes.

most of these i can actually tell the people, i just never have. i don't think i'd get too many issues, except with the really negative ones, like 19 and a few of the other ones. i may do a couple of reveals, if no one guesses them and i feel like they're harmless enough. i'll probably tell people who 19 is if no one gets it in a while since it isn't anyone on my friends list.

I was going to respond to this a while ago, but I happened to talk to Tali about it first and she used all of the ideas I had on her post. :-P Well, all th eideas okay for public consumption. However, since you've said 19 is not someone who reads the list, I feel like I can put my guess out there for it: Lindy. I also have guesses for 13 and 18 but I'm not sure if they would appreciate them and I suspect they would at the very least hear about it, if not read it directly. 15 could be me but I can also guess maybe Trevor or someone like that. 5-you're close to a lot of people, and I'm not sure who you'd consider to "know" you the best--Cindy, Nikki, Kevin, your Sam--so I couldn't say who knows you second-best
