sleep deprivation catching up to me
Dec. 2nd, 2004 08:35 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
i took a nap yesterday at around 6:30, woke up at 8, stayed awake for like 30 minutes and then decided it wasn't worth it to do anything...so i changed into pjs and went back to bed, at 8:30 no less! of course, i ended up being awakened by a phone call at like 12:30, so i stayed up a while in the middle of the night, but all in all, i got like 12 hours of sleep. and now it's 8pm and i have practice in an hour, and i'm really sleepy. i wonder how long it'll take me to catch up on my sleep during the break. probably the whole time or something.
oh, so there's a meme that i found on cassie claire's lj (she's a harry potter writer person,
epicyclical) and it seems cool, so i thought i'd post it.

Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Draco/Harry icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. for my granparents to be healthy.
2. anything tolkien ( see this entry for a mostly updated list of stuff i have already...it'll be updated for sure in the next day or so.
3. to get in to a grad school on the west coast
4. a boyfriend (no one said this had to be realistic)
5. a pink i-pod (again, not sticking to reality so much)
6. a story about anything but somehow involving dancing and a guy from LOTR
7. an icon with lyrics from "That I would be Good" by Alanis Morissette (i've posted these several times, but if someone wants to actually make an icon like this, i'll find the link.)
8. a gift certificate to amazon.com, or something from my wishlist there.
9. a real massage, with oil and everything (only from my girl friends or very specific guys, though)
10. meese!
so yeah, if you decide to do the list, post a comment here with a link so i can see it quickly! and yeah, i know it's christmasy and i don't do christmas, but it can work just as well for hanukkah and new year's so there.
