year-in-review, part 2

dancingyelok, so here's the continuation and perhaps the ending of my previous entry.
may: let's see, what did i do in may? went emerald again, just like freshman year but without the insane train ride there and adventures on the way back. that was much fun. also, surprised my mom for mother's day and got to compete in the berkeley comp with kevin...and we won 2 events! that was a first (and only) time i'd ever won any dance, not counting team ones. and the events were nightclub two-step and hustle, which is funny 'cause we totally social-dance them. but yeah, good times. let's see, anything else in may? had some housing stress, but that worked itself out nicely this year. oh, and i also got to go to rikkud at the end of the month, which is an israeli folk dance camp...that was so awesome! i can't wait to go again this year!
june: finished off the school year and then israel! yay! such an amazing trip! visited grandparents and friend who i hadn't seen in 9 years and met some wonderful people and learned some great things. it's hard to summarize such an experience, but suffice it to say that it was wonderful.
july: um...not sure what i did in june. my lj is pretty much devoid of entries, except for several israel ones. i know i was still there for a about half the month, and i guess i must not have done anything interesting when i got back home. hmmm...i dunno. i did work at least a bit, and the daughter of a random family friend from israel visited us...oh, and i had jury duty, but got out of it due to the fact that i was going to boston at the time of the trial.
august: went to boston and stayed with nik! that was a cool trip! also got to visit another old childhood friend who i hadn't seen in like 15 years. oh, and got very involved in watching the olympics...heh. hot swimmers are fun to watch. and the hamm twins are adorable, except for the really annoying high pitched nasal voices!
september: had the house to myself for a while, which was nice. took the gre, which wasn't so nice, but went pretty well. went to the ghiradelli chocolate festival! yummy! and then it was back to school...moving in to sd campus housing one last time, 'cause even if i go here next year, i'd probably live closer to sd state, since the majority of the joint program takes place there, at least for the first 2 years. but yeah...school got off to a good, if hectic start. love my apartment mates, too. oh, and i kept a whole shabbat, since it coincided with yom kippur. i didn't use electricity, didn't carry stuff, even did the pre-torn paper thing. it was pretty cool. was also pretty overwhelmed by grad school stuff, but that's ok. oh, and nik turned 21!
october: the first thing that comes to mind, even though it's not in chronological order, is dance tryouts. i had such a blast running stuff the whole month, and then the results were so sad. i was so bummed, but now i'm actually feeling pretty good about it, 'cause cheryl said i could dance vegas instead of her, and katie randomly offered me her sfo spot. so it's all better, but i was really sad then. oh, and i started posting moose pics, and then promptly forgot about them. should start up again. oh, and developed my current crush. great.
november: had a roller-coaster of moods trying to decide about the team, but i'm glad i stayed in the end. i guess everyone knew i would, but it was still a dilemna for a bit. the election happened, but i don't wanna think about it too much. crush grew even bigger, which is um...both fun and not. kevin and tali visited, which was awesome! went home for thanksgiving, then had an entertaining car ride back. oh, and at some point, i decided that i'm gonna go the TORN convention! yay! oh, and took the psych gre, which went pretty well. the month was a little odd, in terms of mood and self-doubt and stuff, but that's ok.
december: well, this was an up and down sort of month. finals and grad school insanity, complete with no sleep and lots of stress...but at least i got it all done and got good grades and made all my deadlines. and then the car ride home...that was interesting, to say the least. oh, and cin turned 21! finally! break was really good...rested, hung out with people, the usual stuff. got my ROTK extended edition! and new year's party went so well! first year i didn't think that i never wanted to do this again! oh, and sometime this month, straightened stuff out with cin re: last year, once and for all. that was a good feeling.
so that was my year! it's funny, 'cause i can see looking over it that it wasn't all happy, but overall, it was wonderful, maybe the best. such great friends and fun times and just good things, despite anything else.
