dancingyel | i don't know if "awesome" quite covers this evening

i'm exceedingly happy tonight, and i didn't even do anything particularly special. thomas and i went to see liquid lite, which was a dance production thing, and that was very cool. the best group? these guys called "the cleanup crew," who use things like trashcans and buckets to drum. they rocked so much! so that was great. and then we were walking around, trying to figure out what interesting thing to do, so we decided to go over to trevor's...and then had the brilliant idea to actually call him and see if he was home, and as it turned out, he wasn't. he was at andres' and david's and i guess his own, eventually, new place, playing munchkin. now, if you don't know what munchkin is, it's an extrememly awesome card game that makes fun of d&d and other rpgs, with cards that completely mock items and things in d&d. it's hard to explain...you kinda have to see it to get it. but in any case, it's a really entertaining, totally hillarious game. the goal is to gain levels, which you can do by killing monsters, among other things. the first player to 10 wins the game. so there were 6 of us playing (trevor, andres, dave, tim (who's gonna live at that appartment over the summer), thomas, and me) and we played for like 2 hours before thomas won by killing a level 1 potted plant. david almost won by killing a level 1 chair, but it didn't quite happen. so yes. exciting times!

i'm not sure why exactly i'm so happy, but i think it's just time spent with awesome people, and i feel like i'm trying to soak up every possible moment before i have to leave. man, i'm gonna miss this next year. it's funny...last year, when kevin was graduating and i wasn't gonna live with cin anymore, i was really afraid of what this year would bring. and then it came, and it's been, hands down, the best year of my life. and, as the quote says, i have to believe that the best is yet to come. this is really exciting...and a little scary, but hugely exciting.

eta: if david's comment doesn't make sense, it's because i somehow decided that their summer roommate is named mike, while he is, in fact, named tim. the entry has now been changed to mention his actual name. yes. heh.
