aah, don't you just love some people? the wonderful president of our wonderful ballroom dance club has decided that we must have mandatory e-mail checks at lest once a day, and preferably twice...once in the morning and once in the evening. what is this? seriously, who does she think she is? bother this idiocy.
What?

The other option is to do everything via the phone, which has other problems. Email is simpler, and easier. If you have no responsibility, it doesn't matter one way or another, but if you have a responsibility to a group of people there needs to be a relatively immediate and reliable way to contact you. If you don't want that way to be email, provide another, and realize that you're making it harder on the rest of the organization.
(Yes this is an issue I've dealt with on some levels too, having done the whole responsibility thing a time or two, so I have a fairly strong opinion)
she's the president of the club, of course. But I guess you knew that.

Of course, you could always resign and let her appoint someone who's willing to deal with this. Or you could stage a coup d'etat and rally all the people who didn't vote for her to your side. Hey, why not do both?
Beware the ides of March....
