am bored out of my mind. both people who are supposed to meet with me before i can proceed with various tasks seem to have taken a day off today. my supervisor gave me some stuff to read, but i'm done with it, and he's not here, either. he seems to have meetings galore and is unreachable at the moment. i feel so unproductive, but it's not like i have anything i can be doing instead! i'm looking forward to the time when i have things i have to do in the long-term, so i'm not sitting here, waiting for someone to give me a new task.

Yeah, I had that problem when I first started at GA, but pretty soon you get "background tasks" where if you're waiting on that one person to get back to you, or there's just something else to wait on for your major project, you turn to one of your background projects that need to get done eventually, but aren't of very high priority. Or, you could just surf slashdot and fark.com like I do :P

heh...i've played lots of spider solitaire so far...i know that eventually, there will be different things that i can work on, but since my direct supervisor is out on vacation, i can only do the things that i'm given immediately, and that's not much. plus, i read fast, so the reading they give me doesn't take as long as they think it will.
