[livejournal.com profile] coolhandamanda is apparently a bad influence on me. after conversations with her about cancer research, as well as randomly depressing afternoon (not connected with her in the slightest, or cancer, or anything), i went and looked up studies about insomnia and cancer and improving quality of life through helping people with cancer sleep better. there's not very much stuff out there, although i found a good review paper from may. and that makes me think, "wow, there are so many intervention studies i could try and do to improve sleep patterns in people with cancer!" er. no, i don't need a whole other random research interest! meep! but now i'm gonna go look up more papers and possibly talk to my advisor about it in a few weeks. this is terrible.

Wow, I think this is the first time I've ever been called a bad influence! I'm honestly flattered!!

Wanna do a study together?

Hehe. Well, it's true! This train of thought is entirely your fault!

I'd love to do a study together! No idea what, as of right now, but it would be awesome.

We should put our heads together. I know when my mom was having her bone marrow transplant, trying to sleep was absolutely terrible for her.

We should. Sleep issues occur in something like 50% of cancer patients, due to all sorts of reasons: the drugs, the anxiety, pain, all that fun stuff. So yeah, there's lots to work with, just would have to figure out what might make sense.
