i'm swamped with work
Nov. 10th, 2007 10:01 pmso instead of doing it, i'm posting on lj. right. just like undergrad.
the other day, on a whim, i emailed someone i hadn't spoken to in approximately 2 years. it's hard to explain why i decided to get in touch with him again, but it just felt like the thing to do. i hate being on bad terms with people, so i was hoping we could be at least be on speaking terms again. and he emailed me back, sounding surprised (as far as anyone can sound like anything in print), but friendly enough. it was a short email (i thought, 2 years ago i would've been offended! and
linley said, "oh, how we grow" when i told her about it.) but it's good. i don't really want to be close friends again, and i doubt he does, either, but it's nice to know we're no longer "not speaking" to each other. makes my heart a little lighter.
in other news, i'm still on a re-read-old-lj-entries kick. it's rather entertaining, and i have the distinct urge to use phrases like "tres happyfying" again. greg, cin, and nik, you probably remember this phase! i don't think anyone else does, but that's probably for the best.
in other other news, i should get back to grading a stack of gibberish that a prof wants me to believe is stats midterms. having looked at them, i know better. they're not stats midterms, but utter nonsense. my job seems to be wading through the gibberish and figuring out which parts, if any, most closely resemble answers to stats problems. fun stuff.
